ANNUAL AC EVENTS – FARMERS MARKET, MUSIC IN THE PARK AND MOVIES UNDER THE STARS – RETURNING IN JULY

Farmers Market and Music in the Park return Thursday, July 9 while the first outdoor movie is set for Friday, July 10 at Bartram Avenue

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – (Wednesday, June 24, 2015) – The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) is pleased to once again welcome back the Annual Farmers Market, Music in the Park and Movies Under the Stars, three popular annual summer events that attract residents and visitors alike and support the growth of non-gaming attractions throughout the Tourism District.

Now in its 15th year, the Farmers Market will again be held at Center City Park, located on Atlantic Avenue between North and South Carolina avenues, on Thursdays and Saturdays 9 am – 3 pm from July 9 through September 26. For the second straight year, the Farmers Market will also be held at Bartram Avenue, located between Columbia and Kingston avenues, and the Boardwalk on Fridays and Sundays 9 am – 3 pm beginning July 10 and running through September 25.

Once again, several farmers from throughout southern New Jersey will offer delicious fresh fruits and vegetables picked straight from their crops. Other local vendors will offer a wide range of selections at both locations like barbecue, fresh guacamole, soups, honey, water ice, flowers, soaps and assorted accessories.

“The CRDA is proud to continue to support these three long-standing events that are a tremendous asset for the district and the community,” said CRDA Executive Director John Palmieri. “The Farmers Market brings great products from the farms right to our residents and tourists while the outdoor movies are always a wonderful time for families to get together and enjoy great theatrical entertainment on a warm summer evening.”

Music in the Park, a live lunch-time musical entertainment series, returns to Center City Park on Thursdays from 12 – 2 pm beginning July 9 and running through September 24 during the Farmers Market. Guests are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, lunch and refreshments. Here are the scheduled musical acts and dates (subject to change/cancellation due to inclement weather or other circumstances):

The return of Movies Under the Stars lets viewers recreate the joy that the old drive-in theatres provided without the vehicle of course. Movies will be shown throughout July and August, three nights per week – Sundays at Brighton Park, Mondays at Historic Gardner’s Basin and Fridays at Bartram Avenue and the Boardwalk – and will begin promptly at dusk. Guests are welcome to bring beach chairs, blankets, food and refreshments.
