Exciting Developments in the Shaq Cityplex Project
The Press of Atlantic City website posted an article by staff writer Lynda Cohen with some terrific news for residents of Bella. Lynda reports that City Council approved a plan for NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal’s development project to be built in the South Inlet neighborhood. This finalizes an agreement between the city and Shaquille O’Neal partner Boraie Development for a $75 million development.
The article states that plans for the Southern Inlet Village Community Project — which spans Atlantic Avenue from Delaware to New Jersey avenues — include an entertainment complex, Cityplex movie theater, residential, commercial, office and retail development, along with a supermarket and parking. Boraie Development Vice President Wasseem Boaraie said they plan to break ground later this year.
“This project is a shining example of urban community development at its best,” Mayor Lorenzo T. Langford said in a statement. “Boraie Development, LLC is well-known for building successful inner-city projects with mixed-use residential, retail, commercial and entertainment components that enhance entire communities. They bring to Atlantic City the knowledge, expertise and capital necessary to create a new, vibrant community.”
